RO 15:19 by the power of signs and miracles, through the power of the Spirit. So from Jerusalem all
the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.
The normal response will be to praise God for these miracles and ask for more, but are these miracles
really coming from God, and who are they really glorifying? We know that the miracles that Jesus did always led people to
repent, have greater faith in God, and believe in the message of the gospel. These miracles were always meant to reconcile
man to God, and never to glorify a human. Real prophets become false prophets when they seek spiritual manifestations above
the presence of Jesus Christ.
MT 24:24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to
deceive even the elect--if that were possible. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.
Now obviously those of us that love the Lord want to experience His miracles and most of us who have
been through the wilderness not only want, but need God's miracles to be restored, but we must also be careful not to just
jump at everything that comes along and call it a miracle because not all of them are from God. If Satan can get Christians
to focus on themselves and not the harvest then he can keep the field. False miracles always glorify humans and take the focus
away from Jesus Christ.
AC 19:11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that
had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.
There will indeed be extraordinary miracles that will happen that we may have not seen so we should
not be like the Pharisees and call everything we see the Devil, but we must always run what we see through God's word and
Spirit to check it to see where it is coming from. Jesus' sheep should not only recognize His voice, but also His handy work
as well. Welcome God's true miracles, but avoid desperation and use your spiritual discernment and God's word to evaluate
where they are coming from.
PS 77:11 I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. 12
I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds. 13 Your ways, O God, are holy. What god is so great
as our God? 14 You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.
