JOB 2:7 So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD and afflicted Job with painful sores from
the soles of his feet to the top of his head. 8 Then Job took a piece of broken pottery and scraped himself with it as he
sat among the ashes.
Sometimes we can feel like God is a million miles away and that we are just left to sit there in our
flesh and pain without any help. During this time you can be faced with everything in your life that did or did not go so
well and it can be easy to wonder where you took a wrong turn. But the truth is that you may not have done anything wrong
at all and that you may just be being tested before a major spiritual breakthrough.
GE 40:23 The chief cupbearer, however, did not remember Joseph; he forgot him.
You may be facing a time right now where it is the end of your wilderness and everything just feels
dead and lifeless. Like Joseph you have been faithful and now it looks like you have been abandoned by God and everyone else
and self-pity may be pounding at the door of your heart. But no matter how you feel you must remember the character of God
and that He has promised to never leave or forsake you ever.
GE 18:12 So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, "After I am worn out and my master is old, will
I now have this pleasure?" 13 Then the LORD said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh and say, `Will I really have a child, now
that I am old?' 14 Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year and Sarah will
have a son."
You may be feeling pretty old and worn out lately but you have a choice, you can either hang onto
the promises God has given you long ago, or you can lapse into cynicism and harden your heart. God will indeed come back around
to confirm His promises to you just like He did Sarah and Abraham so be ready and believing when He shows up. As you fully
repent and worship, new life will flood into your dead zone.
JOB 42:12a The LORD blessed the latter part of Job's life more than the first.
GE 41:41 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt."
GE 21:1 Now the LORD was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did for Sarah what he had
promised.
