The Spirit Of Persecution

JN 15:20 Remember the words I spoke to you: `No servant is greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also.

We are about to see many people become empowered by God's Spirit to heal the sick, cast out evil spirits, and perform many signs, wonders, and miracles in order so that people will believe the message of the gospel and get saved. When this happens though, you can expect many so-called Christians to persecute those who operate under God's power because they are jealous and envious that it is not happening in their lives. You see, only the fully humble and those who are truly submitted to the moment by moment direction of the Holy Spirit will be empowered, all other rebellious pharisaical type Christians will not be empowered and through their pride and jealousy they will open themselves up to a wicked evil spirit known as the spirit of persecution.

AC 5:12 The apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers used to meet together in Solomon's Colonnade.

AC 5:17 Then the high priest and all his associates, who were members of the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy.

Miracles through God's fishermen, and persecution from the ultra-religious crowd always come simultaneously, so expect it to come from anyone around you who has a problem with spiritual pride or legalism. And I do mean anyone. It may come from your family or closest friends, so do not be surprised when it does. I even remember one time while I was ministering in Hollywood there was a mighty outpouring of God's Spirit during the meetings, and one morning we showed up there was a crowd of so-called Christians there with bull horns telling everyone not to go in to the meeting. One person in that crowd was a family member that I had ministered with for years. She was jealous that I no longer ministered with her so she joined in with the persecution.

AC 5:14 Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number. 15 As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter's shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. 16 Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by evil spirits, and all of them were healed.

The main thing to remember is that the harvest must be reaped during this time, so your job will just be to do whatever the Holy Spirit directs you to do regardless of who does or doesn't like it. It helps to stay away from the pharisaically minded and to band together with those who love the Holy Spirit and the works that He does. The choice is always yours as far as what you will, or will not allow in your life. You didn't go through all this wilderness for nothing, so press on and do whatever the Lord Jesus directs you to do. If you walk in good discernment you will always be able to work out what is, or is not from God, so keep being obedient if and when the spirit of persecution attacks.

AC 18:9 One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: "Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. 10 For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city."
