Putting The Holy Spirit In A Box

JN 9:15 Therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. "He put mud on my eyes," the man replied, "and I washed, and now I see." 16 Some of the Pharisees said, "This man is not from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath." But others asked, "How can a sinner do such miraculous signs?" So they were divided.

Sometimes God will offend the mind to get to the hearts of people. Jesus often did things in what was considered to be a very unconventional manner. Miracles have a way of bringing out any religious mindsets and spiritual pride, but the bottom line is that it is just plain envy and jealousy that motivates people to persecute the miracles that Jesus does in the earth. We are now entering a great time of revival that is going to last for many years, and we will see some very common people, do some very uncommon things, in some very common places. And because these virtual nobodies will be walking in God's power, you can expect these same nasty religious spirits to mock and ridicule the miracles that God will be doing.

JN 9:31 We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly man who does his will. 32 Nobody has ever heard of opening the eyes of a man born blind. 33 If this man were not from God, he could do nothing."

The bottom line is that power talks, and people will listen to the message of the gospel when the Lord performs a miracle for them. Always check the fruit of a miracle; are people being brought closer to, or further away from Jesus? The religious crowd will usually just say that if God is not doing the miracle through them, then it is likely not God at all, and it must then be Satan. God will never contradict His own words, but He will often do things a little bit differently than we expect Him to just to test our faith, and to draw out any spiritual pride in us. You cannot have real revival without the power and leadership of the Holy Spirit helping you, so we must be careful not to judge things just because we don't fully understand them.

JN 9:39 Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind." 40 Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, "What? Are we blind too?" 41 Jesus said, "If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.

You can try to put the Holy Spirit in a box, but if you do, He will just jump out of it and all you will be left with is the box, and no miracles. Many churches are just empty boxes now. Unless we have fully repented of all sin, are walking in the Holy Spirit's daily direction, full of God's love for people, and we are actively preaching the gospel with miracles backing it up, then we should be very careful about calling what the Holy Spirit may be doing, Satanic. The last time I checked, blasphemy of the Holy Spirit was still an unforgivable sin, so we need to humble ourselves and ask God to show us exactly what is of Him, and what is not. This is your day to walk in God's power, so don't let anyone cheat you out of it just because of fear.

MK 3:28 I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them. 29 But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin." 30 He said this because they were saying, "He has an evil spirit."

The word must be applied by the Holy Spirit, otherwise it all just becomes the law again. In the months and years ahead we are going to see God do many things that will not make a lot of sense to the pragmatic legalistic mind. But for those who constantly walk in God's love and spiritual discernment, they will be able to pick out whether something is a false or true miracle very easily, because they are willing to ask God about it, rather than to judge it as just demonic. Our day to rise up and walk in God's power has finally come now, so we must all stop expecting God to only do things our way, or He will just hit the highway. It's time to let the Holy Spirit out of our legalistic boxes, and to do things His way from now on.

EPH 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
