1JN 5:2 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands.

Most of us have longed for many years to have God flow through us in power, and we get frustrated because not much seems to really happen when we pray. But there is something very important that we can give to people right now; our full obedience to God. You see, if we truly want to help people and have God use us in power then we can repent right now of everything that has been blocking that power from operating.

2CO 2:9 The reason I wrote you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything.

If we honestly care about people and want to help them then we must be willing to do whatever it takes to become usable by God in order to do that. Full repentance on our part is more valuable than hours of intercession because it then puts us in a place where God can trust us enough to move through us in power without us ruining it all through sin or disobedience. Total obedience opens the door for all God wants to give.

1CO 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.

So if we are truly burdened for the lost and really want to help them like we say we do, then we need to prove it by repenting of everything that has been keeping us from doing that. We live in a time where people need God's power more than ever, so let's give the lost a gift that can truly help them by putting ourselves into a place of true usability through full repentance. Real love demonstrates itself through true obedience.

2JN 1:6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.

JN 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
