Facing the Green Eyed Monster

We are quickly approaching a time where many of us who have successfully completed the wilderness will begin to be used as channels of Gods power and resources to a very lost and needy world. Because of this, many so-called Christians will get very jealous and envious because they will think "they" should have what God has given you. The problem is, "they" were not willing to undergo the training and dying to self that it took to get it. Just like in Jesus time, you can expect the modern day Pharisees to be some of your worst enemies as we enter this last great harvest of souls in the earth. They will do whatever they can to shut you down, but as long as you don't give up or give in, there is really nothing they can do to interfere with Gods plans.

We must check our hearts though for any weak areas that could be exploited by these persecutors of the anointing; like any fear of man, fear of rejection, pride, sin habits, dishonesty, idolatry of reputation or position, or any other area that could be an opening in our spiritual fence. Ask yourself this, how do you respond when someone gossips, criticizes, disapproves, or verbally attacks you? Do you get defensive and react to appease or disqualify that persons attack, or are you secure enough in God and in who you are in God to not defend yourself and let God vindicate you in His timing? It is really tough to be sold out or abandoned by those closest to you that you thought you could trust, but you might as well expect some of this to happen with the anointing, especially if they are afraid it might cost them something.

Remember also, that even if you are working through a problem in your soul, or if you did make a mistake, that we are all a work in progress and whatever needs to change, or whatever possible mistake you made is just between you, God, and the other people involved. You are not required to defend yourself to people who are not directly involved in the matter. There are accusing, critical, faultfinding spirits that try to attack someone who is plundering the kingdom of darkness and they will whisper into the ears of people that are jealous or resentful of what God is doing through you. There are also doctrinal Pharisees that try to dissect everything you say and discredit it somehow with the bible, but do not be drawn into their foolish arguments. If you really get that off course the Holy Spirit will send a Nathan to you to confront you, but it will usually be someone who speaks God’s words, and not the Devil’s.

2TI 2:23 Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. 24 And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. 25 Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

MT 22:15 Then the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words.

MT 22:18 But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, "You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me?

If the Holy Spirit identifies a weak area in your soul, then be willing to face it and make the changes that He wants you to make. You will likely have to keep facing what you fear until you give the right response to the test consistently. If you fear man then you will likely be attacked by man, and God will watch you to see how you react. If you take the matter to God without fearfully retaliating or defending yourself, then you will pass. If you fear gossip, then you will likely be gossiped about and be tested on how well you keep your mouth shut about it and keep it in Gods hands. It is ok to respond to a problem or false accusation if the Lord tells you to, but it is not ok to allow someone to control you just because you are feeling fearful or insecure about what they said about you, or did to you. Judas may sell you out, but Jesus will not, and we must trust Him.

MT 5:11 "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

God will one day vindicate everyone who has been unfairly slandered and/or mistreated for the gospel’s sake, and we must be secure in the fact that God loves and approves of us and will stand with us no matter what. When you are secure in Gods love for you, there is little room left there for fear or insecurity. Trust your Father that He will defend and protect you when you really need it, and trust Him even when you have to bear the reproach of being falsely accused like Joseph was. Many of us in the wilderness were driven into the wilderness by some very shameful circumstances just like Moses or Jacob were. Trust in God’s long term plan for your life and just understand that all truth will be revealed one day, and that your reputation is always secure with God and with those around you that really know Him and walk in true spiritual discernment.

MT 10:26 "So do not be afraid of them. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. 27 What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. 28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
