2KI 23:19 Just as he had done at Bethel, Josiah removed and defiled all the shrines at the high places
that the kings of Israel had built in the towns of Samaria that had provoked the LORD to anger.
For most of us who have been having our souls gone through in the wilderness most of our more overt
and obvious sin-habits have been dealt with, but there are still a few ambiguous idols in our lives that still need to be
eradicated, and that's what I want to briefly touch on. Israel got rid of most of their idols in Canaan that were fairly easy
to deal with and more obvious, but they always left the idols that were harder to deal with and less obvious in the high places
intact. This always angered God and interfered with their relationship with Him.
We too have our own high places that are a little harder to deal with and less obvious like TV, food,
unforgiveness, and Internet idols that need to be brought under God's control. God knows how to take us to the root of what
drives our needs, and He knows how to truly meet our needs. Most of the time when we run to idols, it is because our spiritual
and emotional needs are not being met. Trust God in the days ahead to bring new light and revelation into these tougher idols
and to give you a heart like Josiah to destroy them. Jesus will help you.
JN 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
